Tonight on Soul Vaccination, we’ll be playing the music of Mary Isabel Catherine Bernadette O’Brien, better known as Dusty Springfield. A British singer, she was one of the most notable white soul artists in the swinging sixties. Her recording of Son of a Preacher Man (originally offered to and turned down by Aretha Franklin) is just killer. It knocked me out how it used in the soundtrack of Pulp Fiction – nearly 30 years after it was recorded. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpEpKHi-kRk
Brett Hartenbach has pulled together the music for this show and will be joining me tonight in the studio!
Soul Vaccination tonight from 6-8 for the music of Dusty Springfield.
